First Name: Cara Lyall
Grade: 12
Best loved book and movie: My favourite movie of all time would have to not be twillight, and actually be a classic Arthur's Christmas. My best loved book is definitely Babysitter's Club.
Previous travels: Canada
On the plane I will... think about Tess's explanation of why planes are bad and scary, and how jets make people want to vomit because they are cold and stupid babies kick your seat when they sit behind you. AND that the inconsiderate lady sits beside you and reads Harry Potter when you haven't read it yet, and you keep getting peaks of what is happening and you're all like, "Voldemort said whaaaaaaaaaaat". Also, there are always business men from Florida that talk about themselves alot, and fight over blankets and pillows, and leg room. Then taylor falls asleep on him. Next time Tess flies, she`s doing first class. She can`t handle normal planes. For some reason, her hands will get tired and bloody. Don`t know why. Oh, that`s Tess`s hands. Yup.
On the bus I will...eat. think. watch. understand. sniffle. love. laugh.
Favourite food: something without meat. :) Taylor likes chicken. Amy likes fish, but loves birds the most. She also likes cheese and onion pies. That is all.

Day 1: Vienna, Austria
I've been reviewing the itinerary today, and I wanted to share with you a picture of St. Stephen's Cathedral.
The first church to occupy the site of St. Stephan's Cathedral was a Romanesque church, which was replaced by a larger Romanesque basilica in 1147. A major fire in 1258 destroyed the basilica and construction on the present Gothic cathedral began in the early 14th century.
The cathedral suffered damage during the Turkish seige of 1683 and again in the closing days of World War II, when fire from streetfighting leapt to the rooftop. The cathedral was reopened in 1948; the roof was repaired and decorated with ceramic tiles donated by Viennese citizens in 1950.
Among the important events that have occurred at St. Stephen's are Mozart's wedding in 1782 and his funeral in December 1791. What a place to visit on Day 1!

Welcome to our Blog!
Hello travellers and parents ... welcome to our blog. We are so excited that the new year is approaching, and with that, the countdown to Austria, Germany and Switzerland begins!
We will be using this blog as a means of communicating with you. Through pictures, stories and ideas, we hope that everyone will have a chance to get to know each of the travellers before we head overseas. Starting over the break, we will be posting pictures of students and staff who will be on this trip. Please help us out by filling in the questionnaire we send home with you. Note: there will be no last names of students who will be on this trip posted on this blog.
We'll start you off with a few pictures of some of the sites we will see. Get those cameras ready!
Enjoy!
